Description

Taiwan rosal, also known as Taiwan cherry or Formosan cherry, is a species of flowering cherry tree native to Taiwan. It is scientifically known as Prunus campanulata.

Taiwan rosal trees produce beautiful, pink, bell-shaped flowers in early spring, usually around February or March, before the leaves emerge. The flowers can be solitary or arranged in clusters, and they are followed by small, cherry-like fruits. The leaves are green, shiny, and oval-shaped, with serrated edges.

Taiwan rosal is a relatively small tree, typically growing to about 20-30 feet tall, although it can grow up to 50 feet tall in optimal conditions. It is an ornamental tree that is often planted in gardens and along streets, and is also used as a bonsai tree.

Taiwan rosal trees prefer full sun and well-drained soil, and are generally easy to grow. They are tolerant of heat and humidity, making them well-suited to the tropical and subtropical climates of Taiwan and other regions of Southeast Asia. They are also relatively drought-tolerant once established. The tree is generally hardy and resistant to most pests and diseases.
